Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces
The Problem
Nikki understands what it means to work hard and still worry about making ends meet.
As a veteran, single mother, nonprofit leader, and entrepreneur, she has seen firsthand how many workers are doing everything right and still struggling to stay afloat. Across Georgia, too many people are working full-time jobs while living paycheck to paycheck. Too many workers are facing unsafe conditions, wage theft, discrimination, unstable scheduling, or workplaces where they feel disposable instead of respected.
Nikki has spent years listening to workers, business owners, and families across Georgia talk about the pressures they face just trying to survive in an economy that too often leaves people behind. She understands that when wages do not keep up with the cost of living, families suffer. When workers are treated unfairly, entire communities feel the impact.
No one should work full-time and still struggle to pay rent, afford child care, or keep the lights on. No worker should have to choose between their paycheck and their safety.
This is not just a workplace issue. It is an economic issue. When workers are underpaid, exploited, or unsupported, Georgia’s workforce becomes weaker and economic mobility becomes harder to reach.
Nikki’s Plan
Georgia’s workers deserve leadership that understands both policy and real life.As Labor Commissioner, Nikki will work to make the Department of Labor more accessible, responsive, and worker-centered.
Her administration will:
Expand education and awareness around worker rights and protections
Improve responsiveness and communication within the Department of Labor
Increase outreach to vulnerable, underserved, and historically overlooked workers
Support safer workplace practices and stronger accountability
Advocate for policies that help protect workers from exploitation and abuse
Work to ensure workers across all industries understand the resources and protections available to them
What Nikki Believes
Every worker deserves dignity, fair pay, and safe working conditions.
Nikki believes work should provide stability, not constant financial stress. Georgia’s workers are the backbone of the economy, and they deserve leadership that understands their struggles and takes their concerns seriously.
When workers are treated fairly, businesses are stronger, families are more stable, and communities are healthier. A stronger workforce starts with making sure people feel protected, respected, and valued on the job.
