GEORGIA + OKLAHOMA: WORKING ACROSS STATE LINES
Georgia is one of only four states in the country where voters directly elect their Labor Commissioner.
Now, two of those Democratic nominees are joining forces.
Nikki Porcher, Democratic nominee for Georgia Commissioner of Labor, and Kevin Dawson, Democratic nominee for Oklahoma Labor Commissioner, have announced their mutual endorsements and a new partnership focused on workers, workforce development, workplace safety, and building stronger state Departments of Labor.
“Kevin and I are running in different states, but we are hearing many of the same concerns. Those challenges don't stop at the Georgia state line, and our ideas shouldn't either.”
The candidates will also come together for a public conversation about the future of work and what elected Labor Commissioners can accomplish by learning from one another across state lines.

Kevin Dawson is the Democratic nominee for Oklahoma Labor Commissioner. With more than four decades of experience in safety-critical workplaces and some of the most unforgiving working environments, Dawson has worked around hazardous materials, workplace safety, employee training and education, incident investigations, labor relations, and organizational leadership. He brings both management and union experience to a campaign focused on workplace safety, worker protections, education, enforcement, accountability, and restoring trust in the Oklahoma Department of Labor.
